Vintage mid-century .950 silver filigree peacock brooch/pin, possibly Peruvian. Stamped "950" on the reverse, a higher silver content than sterling.
Finely crafted with intricate openwork wirework throughout: a spiral-detailed head with crest, a scalloped filigree body, and a long cascading fanned tail finished with articulated leaf-shaped dangles that move with wear. The body is set with a large genuine abalone shell inlay in rich green and blue tones, framed in rope-twist wire, a fitting echo of real peacock plumage.
